Formerly known as the Dharmas, Steadman is a musical Brit-pop, substitute pop/rock turnout that has been compared to Radiohead, Oasis, and Suede, among others. The ring was formed in Hastings, England, in 1998, and afterwards playing its portion of U.K. gigs, the Dharmas signed with Arista's British naval division. But things didn't work out with Arista; last, the Dharmas were able to get out of the narrow, variety their make to Steadman and record independently. Lead vocalist/songwriter Simon Steadman started his possess label, Freeloader Recordings, in the late '90s, and the band's debut album, Nonstarter Friendly, came out on Freeloader in England in 1999. Then, in 2000, the CD was released in the U.S. by the Los Angeles-based Ozone Recording Company (ORC). Loser Friendly employs most of Steadman's original batting order, including Simon Steadman, bassist David Walton, and drummer Russell Field. However, keyboardist Ellie Wyatt was replaced by Chris Murphy and guitarist James Board is a late addition.

JIMI Hendrix is set to be immortalised in a computer game. The legendary guitar player will be revived in the latest edition of Guitar Hero due for autumn release.

The Foxy Lady singer who died after drowning in his own vomit, after taking prescription drugs and drinking red wine in 1970 aged just 27 - will feature as a playable character in the game.

His song The Wind Cries Mary and a live version of Purple Haze recorded in 1969 at the San

The fourth version of the game will include an eight-player Battle of the Bands feature which allows two groups each boasting drums, guitars and microphones to compete against each other.

"The Incredible Hulk" dominates U.S. boxoffice

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A bigger, better "The Incredible Hulk" crushed U.S. weekend box office with a $54.5 million take, according to studio estimates.

The action-oriented film revival of the hulking green superhero is the second self-financed production from Marvel Studios, which paid General Electric Co's Universal Pictures a fee to market and distribute the film.

Marvel and Universal brought the first "Hulk" to theaters in 2003, but that more introspective film failed to follow through on its muscular debut after disappointing comic book fans.

DreamWorks Animation's "Kung Fu Panda" fought its way to a second place finish with a weekend tally of $34.3 million.

M. Night Shyamalan's "The Happening" landed the No. 3 spot with a weekend take of $30.5 million. That was the third-largest opening for a movie from the director who wowed audiences with "The Sixth Sense" in 1999 but disappointed with his 2006 film "Lady in the Water."

Aimee Mann Mines Familiar Territory for Bright New Gems

If Aimee Mann’s profile never again approaches the (relative) highs of her post-Magnolia soundtrack fame, that will be fine with us. Because as her seventh studio album attests, Mann is not a star per se but a master craftswoman of pop melancholia. Smilers has its unexpectedly jaunty moments, like the warm keys driving album opener “Freeway.” But Mann’s voice—ghostly, detached, razor-sharp—is the disc's emotional ballast. And ultimately, its spiritual center as well.

Flemish vocal pop up radical K3 were brought together by producer Niels William, a erstwhile Belgian recording artist himself. Having auditioned and assembled Kathleen Aerts, Kristel Verbeke, and Karen Damen, choosing the band list K3 was the light part. With all leash trio members having cut their teeth either in television system or transcription, it was not recollective before the ladies took to the studio. Their first single, "Wat Ik Wil" (What I Want), was well standard, simply did not turn the group into an overnight ace as had been hoped. K3's follow-up single, "Heya Mama," fell inadequate of the marker yet once again, mocked by judges in pre-qualification for Eurosong in 1999, prior to its release. The chemical group distinct to release the track anyway, and scored a major strike. "Heya Mama" exhausted 30 weeks at the top of internal charts, achieving amber record status. K3's debut album, entitled Parels (Pearls), featured the group's antecedently published singles and went gold in presales alone. The band's side by side record, Alle Kleuren, strike shelves in September of 2000, landing even more impressive sales than its predecessor. A marketing frenzy ensued, including plans for a motion-picture show, TV series, clothing, and even K3 dolls. The band's 2001 liberation, Tele-Romeo, and hit individual by the like name reached new teen carbohydrate pop heights, hitting double platinum in presales. Though skeptics claimed that the grocery store could never sustain the meteoric flight of the adolescent bubblegum trio, K3's regular rise to international stardom continued with Popstarr, followed by Kuma He, which landed on Billboard's European Top 100.

Ellen DeGeneres to wed after gay marriage ruling

Ellen DeGeneres to wed after gay marriage ruling

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres plans to marry her long-time partner, actress Portia de Rossi, after a California court ruling allowing gay marriage.

"I am announcing I am getting married," DeGeneres, 50, told the audience during the taping of her "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday. The show was due to be broadcast on Friday.

To wild cheers and a standing ovation, DeGeneres said she was very excited at Thursday's ruling by the California Supreme Court overturning a state ban on gay marriage.

"Thank you. I'll tell you who the lucky guy is soon," she joked.

DeGeneres did not mention de Rossi, 35, but pictures showed the former "Ally McBeal" actress in the audience, smiling and applauding.

"It is something of course that we have wanted to do and we wanted to be legal, and we are just very, very excited," DeGeneres said.

DeGeneres and de Rossi have been a familiar couple in Hollywood for about four years, appearing at red carpet events together. DeGeneres previously had a relationship with actress Anne Heche.

DeGeneres made broadcast history in 1997 when her TV alter ego came out of the closet on her ABC sitcom "Ellen," becoming the first openly gay lead character on U.S. prime-time network television.

A short time later, DeGeneres and Heche went public with their real real-life love affair, instantly becoming America's most prominent lesbian couple. They broke up three years later.
